North
Again started and was ready to play in 1992. The unlucky
members at the time were: Gus, Jamie St. Denis, Rob Wheeler
and Larry Winchester. With a hearty blend of filthy
rock-n-roll, they played as much as they could and wherever
they could. They played until fingers bled and hearts were
clogging. In late 1992 at a gig at Saratoga Winners, they
played as a three-piece (lawrence was busy with studies,)
with Can't Say (rip) and the famous Dugans (rip). At the
show Mr. Howie Glassman (booking master at Bogies,) enjoyed
the young lads and booked them frequently at Bogies. They
played in the Capital District long enough to get the
attention of Paintchip Records guru Dominick Campana. |

In that same
year, they signed on to Paintchip and released the 7" single
"Throw Yourself b/w Black Guitar" on the label. The single
gave the band a boost, a decent following in the area and a
bunch of good reviews from national underground zines. In
1994, Paintchip released a Compilation CD titled "Lead Into
Gold" that featured 10 talented Albany acts like: Crawdad,
Bloom and 100 Acre Wood. North Again's songs "Look Good In
Drag" and "Chandelier" were featured on the Paintchip
CD. |

In 1997 North Again reforms with newest addition Andy Hearn (ARC) on the skins. They practiced and wrote a bunch of new tunes. They played out a few times and decided to take the new material and record the North Again CD/EP. Dust Off The Vinyl, Angel Flies Over a Club, Postcard and Without a Sound were recorded in May of 1999 with John Delehanty producing. They played out a few times in the Capital Region with the new line-up but schedule conflicts started to cause problems. Andy decided to put all his effort on his other band Arc and left N. Again. In that same month Jamie left to West Virgina to further his education. Gus and Larry were left by themselves with a bottle of Scotch and a box of donuts. "At least Larry is in Howie's band, but what am I gonna do?" |

December 1999 brought a new North Again and the testoserone was back. Bill, Gus, Larry, and Dan were ready to churn out that raw garage rock they love so much. In July of 2000 they released the live North Again CD titled: "LIVE, Damn Loud and Limping to the Finish Line." Recorded live from a gig at The Eldorado Hotel in Troy, NY and released on their own Billbored Records. The CD features all the freshness, yelling and raw sound that rock-n-roll is all about. Recorded on four tracks by Arcster Dave D, it's a glimpse of what North Again is all about and what to expect from a live N. Again show - brokedown, blown up, ballistic bop for the listless suckers.... |
